COMPLAGE Industrial Acoustics, the first brand in the VALIS Engineering Group, was founded in 1984, dedicated to civil engineering and industrial acoustics.
Since 2007, VALIS Engineering has been focusing on International market and currently exports 95% of its production to several clients around the world for the the airport industry as well as the construction industry.

Our engineers focused on the issues that airport planers and operators face today to develop a complete range of:
- noise barriers,
- airside safety fences,
- blast deflectors and
- ground Run-Up enclosures (GRE)
Those solutions are designed according to European, FAA and ICAO standards for airport equipment and in line with the safety and usability concerns.
VALIS HEL model Jet Blast Deflector
A jet blast deflector (JBD) is a safety device that redirects the high energy exhaust from a jet engines to prevent damage and injury. The structure must be strong enough to withstand high heat and speed air streams.
VALIS Jet Blast deflectors are made from high strength, hot dip galvanized steel to ensure maximum resistance and durability to high temperatures and engine exhaust speeds. VALIS Jet Blast deflectors contain the registered JETBLOCK® safety system that prevents deflector surfaces from detaching even in cases of accident.
VALIS has three types of Jet Blast Deflectors:
- angled
- curved
- upright
Those different types of fences are appropriate for different uses and can be designed for specific needs in terms of aircraft and placement.
COMPLAGE® Sound Barrier System
The function of the acoustic barrier is to absorb the noise generated by aircraft engines when operating on the ground. VALIS Engineering sound barriers combine two types of acoustic elements: a cladding acoustic panel and a diffraction controller device.
Tested according to European standards, VALIS AIRCOUSTIC® panels are classified as A4 and B3, with the highest levels of sound absorption and insulation.
Manufactured with a distended aluminum front face and a steel structural casing, AIRCOUSTIC® panels have a perfect convergence between durability, structural stability and cost. The interior of the panel consists of an inert and non-combustible high density material. The surface finish of the panels is in thermo-lacquered polyester powder painting. The absorbent face of the panels has a variable transparency that maximizes noise absorption while minimizing the ingress of water and debris.
VALIS Ground Run-Up Enclosures
Structural Design.
The Ground Run-Up Enclosure is an integrated solution incorporating Jet Blast Deflector & Acoustic Barrier. The facility is conceived to mitigate the noise impact while preserving the exhaust fluid flow characteristics of aircraft engines, thereby reducing downtime for engine testing.
VALIS Ground Run-Up Enclosure are designed according to ICAO annex 14 Vol.1 and Annex 16 Vol.1. and structural calculations according to EUROCODE and local annexes when available for the site location.
Steel elemens are hot-dip galvanized according to norm ISO 1461:2009, allowing for a corrosion free life of over 25 years. All fasteners are designed and supplied as high stregth Stainless Steel, class A4.
Noise reduction and noise mapping.
Valis GRE’s envelope the specified limiting aircraft totally in length and width. The height of the acoustical barrier is defined considering the noise reduction objectives of the specific project. The use of density COMPLAGE® acoustic panels guarantees maximum noise reduction levels according to laboratory controlled tests on european norms EN 1793:1 and 2.
Upgradability of the GRE.
The whole GRE structure is designed in modules to facilitate and speedup fabrication, installation, maintenance and eventual repairs.
Taking into account our clients’ concern about accurate investment planning and optimized infrastructure management in the medium and long run, VALIS has developed GRE models that can be used with aircrafts of a superior ICAO class than its original design. This means that with little effort the GRE can be updated to meet growing demands of the airport infrastructure without demolishing the previous investment.

VALIS Engineering' has a pool of engineers and designers with experience in the areas of:
- Design, Detailing and Modeling
- Stress Analysis of Mechanical & Static Equipment and Structural Steel Products
With over 5.000,00 m2 of covered factory area, the plant is equipped with all the necessary hardware and tooling and follows EN1090 standards.
VALIS Engineering employs a very skilled workforce and has an installed manufacturing capacity of over 100 Tons of steel structures per month.
VALIS Engineering production’s portfolio, over the last 10 years, represents c.a. 5.000 tons.
