Linz Airport is not only a nerve centre for 450,000 passengers (60 % business, 40 % charter) and more than 54,000 t of freight a year but is also a major employer. Flughafen Linz employs a staff of 150 and through co-operation with the firms located at the airport, guarantees a secure and future-oriented job market to approximately 1,000 people.

The advantages of a regional airport

Linz airport is connected daily with hubs like Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, thus enables our passengers to reach more than 200 destinations worldwide.

Additionally, we offer almost 30 weekly charter flights during summer season.

Linz airport is centrally located, just 15 km from city center Linz and easy to reach by car, bus or railway.

A clear terminal layout with a swift check-in and short distances are crucial for a regional airport. A walking distance of 67 meters from check-in to the aircraft is the result of these efforts.

Handling of all kinds of aircraft is possible

Our runway with a length of 3,000 m and a width of 60 m is on the highest technical standard, equipped with a landing system of Category IIIB.

Our apron has a size of 116,000 m². There are 13 parking positions for medium-range aircraft and five parking positions for wide body aircraft.

In the economic heart of Austria

Located in the centre of Europe – Upper Austria is one of the strongest export regions of the EU.

Within Austria, the industrial region surrounding the airport is the biggest export area, with 27% of all exported goods originating from this region.

A broad mix of trades and industries makes the area highly resistant to economic shock.

Upper Austria does not only score as an economic province but is also a gem in the tourism industry. Linz has developed from an industrial city to one modern and culturally thriving.

Gateway to the Euro Region Danube-Vltava

Linz Airport is located within the European region Danube-Vltava catchment area that was founded as an area of co-operation between seven partner regions.

The objective of the programme is to intensify co-operation, increase quality of life and ensure economic solvency in these regions.

The area has six million inhabitants and accounts for 30 million overnight stays.
