Issue 75 January 2022
A new year is upon us, and after a difficult 12 months the aviation sector is as optimistic as ever for a bounce back to something near the levels of 'the before times', despite an unsettling Omicron-flavoured spectre looming over airports and airlines.
This issue, we hear from some of the industry leaders as they give their predictions for the trends we'll see taking hold in 2022, both for airlines and airports. We also highlight how new ultraviolet technology is being implemented to help keep airports clean – a particularly high priority due to obvious pandemic-related reasons. We also learn about a new app that is helping airport and airline staff combat wildlife trafficking in aviation.
And, as you would have seen already, our cover story this month dives into the new EU regulations coming into effect this year. The bloc's long awaited travel and information authorisation scheme is due to roll out this year, but what exactly does it entail? We find out all about it.
