Menzies to acquire a majority stake in Groundforce

Aviation services provider Menzies Aviation has signed a subscription agreement with TAP Air Portugal (TAP) and Groundforce to acquire a controlling stake of 50.1% in Groundforce, the Portuguese airline’s aviation services arm.

Groundforce handles over 100,000 aircraft turns each year across its operations at five of the busiest airports in Portugal. In May 2021, TAP filed to liquidate Groundforce in light of Groundforce’s worsening financial situation.

Menzies acquires Aircraft Services in Panama

Menzies Aviation announced its acquisition of Aircraft Services and Consulting, which allows the company to strategically enter the aviation market in Panama. Aircraft Services and Consulting has a recognised 20-year history of operations in Panama and makes for a pivotal commercial gateway within the Americas region.

Avolon to order 40 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft

Ireland-based aircraft leasing company Avolon is set to order 40 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, for delivery between 2027 and 2030. Avolon committed to the order with a deal worth over $4bn at the current list price, a deal set to boost Boeing, which is facing ongoing supply chain issues

Alaska Airlines announces SAF agreement with Shell Aviation

Alaska Airlines has announced an agreement with Shell Aviation to expand the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) market beyond a standard fuel supply agreement. Shell Aviation will also supply up to 10 million gallons of neat SAF to Alaska Airlines at their hub in Los Angeles.
