AutoFlight has achieved the world’s longest eVTOL vehicle flight. The 250km route was flown by AutoFlight’s Generation 4 aircraft on a single charge of the aircraft’s lithium-ion batteries.

London Gatwick Airport served 32.8 million passengers in 2022, 70.4% of 2019 traffic. The passenger numbers increased by over 420%, from 6.3 million in 2021.

VTOL aircraft manufacturer Wingtra has announced it has completed a series B funding round of $22m. Switzerland-based Wingtra, founded in 2017, manufactures professional mapping drones and develops software for fully autonomous flights.

India has revealed huge investment plans for airports as air travel demand picks up pace. The government will spend about Rs. 980bn ($12bn) by 2025 to boost regional connectivity. India, which is one of the fastest-growing aviation markets across the globe, aims to increase the number of airports from the current 148 to 220 by 2025.

Finnish airport operator Finavia has registered a 105.3% surge in revenue in 2022. The operator generated revenues of €298.4m last year, versus €145.4m in 2021.
