Japan will attempt to build a homegrown aircraft again after the country’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced a ¥5trn ($33bn) project to build a plane powered by an alternative fuel source by 2035.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is awarding $130m from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funds to nearly 100 airports across the US to increase safety and expand capacity, including $20m for smaller airports to rebuild or upgrade ATC towers.
