Reliable partner for value-added logistic process automation

Vanderlande is the global market leader for value-added logistic process automation at airports, and in the parcel market. The company is also a leading supplier of process automation solutions for warehouses.

Vanderlande’s baggage handling systems move 3.7 billion pieces of luggage around the world per year, in other words 10.1 million per day. Its systems are active in 600 airports including 13 of the world’s top 20.  The company focuses on the optimisation of its customers’ business processes and competitive positions.

Through close cooperation, it strives for the improvement of their operational activities and the expansion of their logistical achievements. Vanderlande’s extensive portfolio of integrated solutions – innovative systems, intelligent software and life-cycle services – results in the realisation of fast, reliable and efficient automation technology.

Innovative systems

Solutions for advanced passenger checkpoints and baggage handling systems must factor in many procedures. These include check-in, baggage sortation and flight make-up, as well as a multi-level screening process. The passenger experience also needs to be optimised and each journey managed seamlessly.

Vanderlande continually invests in innovative and sustainable technology. Our flexible and modular products reduce any element of risk and lead times to an absolute minimum.

  • PAX OPTIMA – Advanced passenger checkpoint that combines state-of-the-art automated screening lanes with remote screening software to create a fully integrated checkpoint solution.
  • FLEET - flexible and scalable logistics solution using intelligent automated guided vehicle (AGV) technology.
  • BAGSTORE – automatic storage and retrieval system for temporary storage of bags.
  • TUBTRAX - high-speed individual carrier systems.

Intelligent software

Vanderlande has developed the VIBES software suite, which provides flexible, effective and integrated control. It is a smart solution that fully supports baggage handling operations, from check-in through to final reconciliation and loading. It enables you to analyse baggage handling performance and ensure fewer bags miss their flights. In addition, less operators are needed and minimal floor space is required.

VIBES can be configured to match all types of business processes. The core offering is available in Essentials. This controls your complete solution, such as screening, scanning and sortation, and guarantees seamless tracking, monitoring and reporting of all bags. Five optional modules provide further features and benefits.

Life-cycle services

In a constantly evolving business environment, airports need the support of reliable partners committed to their specific needs. Changing requirements mean you may have to adapt your logistic processes and systems. As such, Vanderlande’s life-cycle services are a key part of our full value proposition.

Over 100 of our site-based service teams actively support system maintenance, logistics management and business improvement processes on a global basis. These solutions result in optimal baggage flows and support favourable aircraft turnaround times. They also reduce minimum connection times, improving the passenger’s experience.

We offer three types of partnerships, based on your individual requirements:

  • asset services – we focus on your complete system and deliver certainty in the technical performance
  • logistic services – Vanderlande takes full responsibility for your operations
  • business services – we develop a close partnership with airports to future-proof your business performance
